Nursery Rhymes, Poems & Prose
BUGS By Carol S
They feast on the leaves, they hide in the flowers,
chewing on stems, for what looks like hours!
They leave jagged edges and black, sooty buds,
the garden would be lovely... if it weren’t for all the bugs!
THE BOUQUET By Carol S.
Wondrous colors, vibrant hues,
bright, shiny blossoms reds, yellows and blues.
Some planted by nature, we might call them ‘weeds’.
Others lovingly tended, raised carefully from seed.
They’re all from Earth’s garden, whether stately or small.
Thin, wispy shoots and some that stand tall.
Not bought from store coolers, arranged carefully, it seems.
A handful of flowers, mixed up with some greens.
A present for mother, though jumbled and wild.
A gift from the heart, from the hands of a child.
